Place: Random places in Cross River State (Nigeria)

Plant: Okra plant (Abelmoschus esculentus)

Planting time: Fall/Winter 2018

Area: 1 hectare

Products: MicrobeBio® product combination.

Experimental design: This experiment was a part of a multi-crop testing program that was established in Fall/Winter 2018, to evaluate the efficacy of MicrobeBio® for increasing crop yields in Cross River State. The test area was 1 hectare (10,000 m2) for the treated and other controlled product plots.

Method: For achieving the most population density of Okra plants per hectare of land, the results were estimated the following spacing below:

  • 60 cm between rows within the field.
  • 30 cm between plants within a row.

Okra seeds are to be planted at the rate of about 4 – 5 seeds per 30cm (around 1 foot)
